Barberton Area Community Ministries (BACM) is a ministry that was incorporated in 1997. BACM relies on the generosity of others to financially support and make food donations to the ministry. Partnering with us are churches, individuals, civic organizations and businesses.
Several foundations and church organizations have also provided funds, in the form of grants, that allow the ministry to continue to serve its constituents.

                Our mission is to assist low-income residents in the Barberton and Norton communities with various social services. All of the services provided are free to our residents once certain criteria are met for each program. Presently our services include:

·         Food Pantry - Supplies emergency food to 300-400 households every
                                      month.
·         Emergency Shelter - Provides a maximum of 1 week shelter for temporarily

                                                homeless individuals.
·         Ohio Benefit Bank – Provides electronic submission of applications to

                                               Ohio Job & Family Services including: Food        

                                                stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, WIC, FAFSA,
                                                Cash Assistance, HEAP, Tax preparation, Senior

                                                employment, and others.
·         AT&T Life Line - Provides local phone service at a reduced rate
·         Community Garden Project – plant a plot or help with ours
·         The Farmer’s Market Project - $5 vouchers provided to all Food Pantry

                                                                  households 

·         Backpack Program - Students at the Barberton Head Start School receive

                                               food at the end of the month during the school year.
·         Cooking classes - Pantry participants may attend a cooking class every

                                           other month. A sample, the recipe, and most of the

                                           ingredients is given to all who attend.
